
Cecilia Cheung is a dedicated private educator and tutor with over six years of experience in personalized education. She holds advanced degrees in academia, including a Ph.D. from State University of New York at Stony Brook (U.S.) and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. from University College London (U.K.). As a prolific researcher and scientist, Cecilia has authored five articles and fourteen conference abstracts, collectively cited over 240+ times.
During her doctoral studies, Cecilia received a full scholarship and stipend, serving as a teaching assistant for university-level courses in physical geology and environmental geochemistry at SUNY Stony Brook. During her appointment as a research assistant at SUNY, her commitment to hands-on learning led to her involvement with the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). As a university and high school-levels instructor/mentor, she designed and taught innovative curricula in STEM and robotics to inspire students with talents and aspirations in science and engineering.
For her post-doctoral training, Cecilia joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison (U.S.) as a research associate, guest lecturing in graduate-level geotechnical engineering and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects at prestigious facilities, including the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab, and the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Cecilia returned to her roots in Hong Kong, where she has been passionately focused on personalized education in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Science, Computer Studies, English, Research projects, and general education. Her clients range from five to over fifty years old, including elite learners.
Beyond education, Cecilia is an avid enthusiast of technology, electronics and robotics. She actively engages in data science and provides tech and web solutions and consultation for businesses and startups. She also holds certificates for programming, computer software and data science.
For leisure, Cecilia enjoys playing tennis, reading and music. She has achieved Distinction in ABRSM Piano (Grade 8) and Music Theory (Grade 5).
