Cecilia Cheung is a private educator / tutor with 6+ years of tutoring experience. She is an academic researcher and scientist by training in U.S. & U.K. (Ph.D. SUNY, M.Sc. UCL, B.Sc. UCL), as an author to 5 articles and 14 conference abstracts that are cited for 200+ times; During her doctorate (Ph.D., full scholarship and stipend), she was a teaching assistant for university-level physical geology and environmental geochemistry at SUNY. During her appointment as a research assistant at SUNY, as a believer of hands-on learning, she received a second appointment as a proud university and high school-levels instructor/mentor for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). While actively involved in teaching at WISE, she designed her own curriculum (e.g. STEM, robotics) that aimed to inspire students through hands-on learning experience. During her appointment as a research associate at UW-Madison (U.S.), she has previous experience in lecturing graduate-level geotechnical engineering as a guest lecturer. She also mentored graduate and undergraduate students in conducting their research projects and experiments at university and national laboratories (Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab, National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratory) and facilities.
In 2018, she returned to Hong Kong, where she was born and raised. She has since became a passionate private educator / tutor mainly focused in personalized education in Mathematics, Science, Computer Studies, Python, Physics, English Oral and Research. She has experienced in teaching elite clients at age range of 5 to 50+ years old. Outside of education, she is big hobbyist for tech, electronics and robotics, she is actively involved in data science, tech & web solutions and consultation for businesses and startups. Otherwise, she enjoys reading, music and traveling during her leisure, but most likely you will find her on the tennis court. Last but not least, she holds certificates for ABRSM Piano (Grade 8) with Distinction & Music Theory (Grade 5), various programming, computer softwares and data science courses.
