About the instructor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cecilia is an U.S.\/U.K.-trained scientist and academic researcher (Ph.D. State University of New York at Stony Brook [full scholarship & stipend], MSc \/ BSc University College London), as an author to 5 journal articles and 14 conferences abstracts with 250+ citations; During her doctorate (Ph.D.), she was a teaching assistant for university-level physical geology and environmental geochemistry at State University of New York at Stony Brook. As a believer of hands-on learning, she received an appointment as a proud university and high school-levels instructor\/mentor for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). While actively involved in teaching at WISE, she designed her own curriculum (e.g. STEM, robotics) that aimed to inspire students through hands-on learning experience. Other than that, she has previous experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects; She returned to Hong Kong in 2018 and became an educational consultant and a passionate private educator mainly focused in personalized education in Mathematics, Science, Computer Studies, and English. Other than that, she is actively involved in tech, data science solutions and consultation for businesses and startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best part of being a private tutor is the satisfaction of seeing how my students, how much they have improved and exceled in their individual studies and learning new concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching methodology<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Classes are tailor-made for individual’s students’ needs and progress. Students are being evaluated to identify their strength and weaknesses. Learning is emphasized to focus on their weaknesses. Other than that, their interests and curiosities can be developed through analogies, fun or hands-on activities.
